Recognize the Legends of Direct Marketing

The DMA Hall of Fame was established in 1978 as a permanent recognition of individuals who have contributed significantly to the field of direct and interactive marketing, and gives back to the industry. These are individuals who have also given considerable time and effort, done inspiring things for the community at large, as well as demonstrating their mastery of direct marketing.

Awards will be presented on October 14, 2008 at DMA08 Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nomination deadline date is Monday, April 14, 2008.

Selection Criteria

An award of permanent recognition to an individual who has made a major contribution to the theory and/or practice of direct marketing and who has given back to the industry, including the Direct Marketing Association.

The award may be made at the discretion of the DMA Hall of Fame Committee of Judges for accomplishments of significance either past or present. Up to four awards in either of two categories (living and posthumous) can be awarded annually. It is not necessary to present awards each year and the Judges and/or the Board may recommend and vote not to give it at all in any given year.

The Committee of Judges had interpreted these criteria to mean that election to the Hall of Fame presupposes notable success in the direct marketing community, in addition to giving back to the community, and recognizing significant contributions made outside of the individual’s business.
